Kids - the make me laugh so often. Their innocense and how they see the world is just fantastic.  Take today for example. I am currently working with an almost 3 year old (2 more months). It is our custom on Tuesday and Thursdays, that we make oatmeal from scratch. I  have figured out how to make my life easier by putting it in the microwave and cooking it with much less supervision. As it happens sometimes, I don't always put enough milk into the mix of things and the oatmeal turns out too thick. Also, when it comes out of the micro, it often is too hot to eat right away, so I let it stand, further aiding the absorbtion of the liquids. When we sit down and want to eat right away  or are in a rush for some reason,  I often add cold milk to make it creamier and cool it down at the same time. My little one likes it and so do I.

So, today, we did that once again. This was at about 6:20 in the morning. You see, she is up way earlier than usual - she has a cold. Breakfast went well, and I went about doing a few things that had to be done. She busied herself in her play kitchen, cooking and baking cakes. All of a sudden, she comes into the real kitchen, holding her small frying pan with the pretend egg in it. "Put some milk in it. The pan is too hot."  I guess she missed the reason for adding the milk partially. She thinks it's a cooling agent for anything.
